Solar Victoria
Solar Victoria’s purpose is to support people to access clean, affordable, reliable energy, now and into the future. By transitioning to solar, Victorians can take control of their electricity bills, tackle climate change and build a clean and reliable energy future.
Created as a portfolio entity within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), Solar Victoria is delivering the Victorian Government’s $1.3 billion Solar Homes Program, the $47.5 million Solar for Business Program, Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades Program, the $46 million Zero Emissions Vehicles Subsidy Program and the $11 million Training and Workforce Development Package.
Since the program commenced in August 2018, Solar Victoria has:
- Approved more than 200,000 applications through Solar Homes Program,
- Paid more than $381 million in rebates
- Saved the average solar customer $890 per year
- Supported more than 4,000 solar jobs
- More than 1,600 businesses supported
- Generated 1.21 gigawatts of energy
- Reduced carbon emissions by 750,000 tonnes

The Solar for Business Program
The Solar for Business Program is an initiative designed to support Victorian businesses to reduce their energy costs by accessing the benefits of renewable energy.
Rebates of up to $3,500 are available to reduce the upfront cost of installing solar on their business premises, plus the option of an interest-free loan.
